Removing a 2006-2017 Macbook's EFI Lock/Pincode with/without soldering.
First post on my new website, kind of scary right? 'avelious.net' is a website meant for guides on how to do certain things, mostly things that I, myself go through. Always got tired of finding little to no simple guides covering my situation, and the ones I found was always so techncial and sort of outdated. So I decided to try and make guides that provides the easiest route I can give on how to do something; While also making it easy for people to follow.
Enough about my website anyways; About a couple of months ago I got a lot of three laptops on OfferUp. They were two 2011 MacBook Pros and a Dell Latitude something. I sold the Dell Latitude for around 250 bucks🥹. But the MacBook's on the other hand, they both had a EFI lock and a Activation Lock (example seen below). I spent some time researching and getting really no where, cause I didn't know where to look. Later on, I found a couple of tools and YouTube videos that guided me to unlock both MacBooks! And now, I'm here to share what I've come across in a easy to follow guide.
This guide is planned to have a YouTube video aside from it soon, so if your more of a visual learner, wait right ahead!
Important infornmation;
I recommend reading this guide first before taking any action on ya MacBook.
This guide is just a dumbed down BIOS flashing guide but accostomed to Intel Macbooks!
This guide works ONLY for (Intel) Macbooks with a 8 pin EFI chip. You must know where it is physically on the logic board. (later on the guide ill show you how to do so with board viewing software)
Difficulty depends on which year of MacBook you have, either its easy as clipping on a test clip, probing, or just desoldering. \
Below you can find a image of all the Macbook eras and what are compatiable that I've made😊;\
